We are looking forward to another wonderful year. I hope that all of the students and parents are as well. The PHS FFA Chapter has had a very busy summer. We attended camp during the first week of July with almost 30 members. This was one of the largest, if not the largest group, that PHS has ever taken to camp. The school garden did wonderful this summer with the leadership of Justin Keith and Kyler Metz. Terry Shartzer PHS FFA Advisor is in the final chapter of his career here at PHS this semester. He plans to retire at Christmas to spend time with family and work on his farm. We wish Terry a happy retirement and many successful years on the farm. The agriculture department has also helped keep the memorial garden weed free along with other areas on the campus. I hope that everyone has had a great summer and we look forward to seeing you next week. |

The PHS FFA has had a very busy summer. We have put up over 2000 bales of straw to sale for a funidraiser, gained a new classroom, been to camp, and had summer meetings. We are ready for another great year!!!! |

Busy times with the PHS FFA

The PHS FFA is very busy this time of year. Currently we have seven CDE practices going on which include: Dairy Foods, Parli. Pro., Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Soil Judging, Horse Judging, Agriculture Sales, and 4-H Poultry practice. Not only do we have CDE practice our lambs will be here on September 11th for the annual lamb project. Thank you to all of the commuinty members that help train our CDE teams!!!! If it were not for the great community that we are in a lot of what we do would not happen. |

Portland FFA has had a lot of recognition over the past few weeks. We would first like to congratulate Spencer Sanders on his Poultry Proficiency becoming a National Finalist application. Great job Spencer!!!!!! We would also like to congratulate Will Freeman and Katelyn Graham on getting their American Degree. Finally the Portland FFA Chapter would like to announce that we are a Three Star Chapter the best ranking that we can receive from Nationals. Great Job Portland FFA!!!! |
